Southern American Realism

This old oak tree sits in a field right outside of Scottsville, Kentucky. At one time there was an old plantation type house right behind it. I remember that it had six chinmneys in it. The house is gone now and will be wheat or soybeans planted there. I took this photo on the way to see Janice and Rose, the little Menonite girls. It had just sprinkled rain and the buttercups were blooming.
